I have eaten Masala Dosa from roadside food stalls to Taj Intercontinental and every place in between. But I was yet to find the place which made the perfect masala dosa until my friend took me there two days ago.
The restaurant is in a busy part of the city, have to make your way amongst parked motorcycles, scooters, street vendors, people and then finally when you enter, the place is packed to the gill and you have to wait your turn.
I found an easier way, introduced myself to the owner sitting at the cashiers desk, who suggested I speak to his son. One of the waiters, who overheard the conversation, whisked me to a back room where the son was doing his official bookkeeping work.
We shook hands and he was only pleased to hear the purpose of my visit. He escorted me around and even took me inside the kitchen and informed me what to expect when. For instance he told me…"watch that waiter; he will be carrying lots of dosa plates in one hand"
Each time he suggested I kept clicking, it was simply amazing to see how the dosa was made and my mouth was watering already. The aroma of frying dosa mixed with that of chutney was enough to make me crave for a dosa.
I took few pictures of happy customers enjoying their dosa and coffee, and then I noticed they even serve one by two dosa!!!!
I couldn't wait any longer; as soon as I saw couple of seats vacant I said 'I have to eat a dosa now.'
Within few minutes a masala dosa was in front of each of us and chutney was poured until we said 'enough.'
Goodness me! I had finally found the place that made the perfect masala dosa. Both my friend and I were relishing the dosa, everything just right, the color, the flavor, the crispness, the consistency, the bhaji with hint of butter on it and the chutney made the entire eating experience just heavenly.
Son asked me to have one more and my friend quickly said, "Let’s have one by two."
Once we finished eating dosa, two cups of hot coffee was brought to us…Wow!!! The aroma of the coffee too was just right. My friend said "let’s slurp it for a change"
What an experience it turned out to be, we thanked the owner and his son and promised to return again soon.
There is some thing else I want to tell you but just can't remember what it is…Oh the price was altogether Rupees 56.00.
That is all I think!
You want to know the name of the place too?
Or you have guessed it already? :)

My friend took me to many places, but the dosas I ate at Vidhyarthi Bhavan, and at two joints (one in Chickpet and the other on Residency Road) had left a distinct taste in my mouth.
